Home Our Story Find Us

The far south coast of New South Wales is a beautiful place.  We are blessed with pristine beaches, a hinterland of national parks, and green rolling hills dotted with dairy farms. Mountain View is nestled on the edge of the Biamanga National Park. We start and end our working day by taking in the vista of pastures, bushland and Mount Dromedary to a chorus of lyrebirds, kookaburras and parrots.

We are recent tree-changers, and love our farm life. We find farming beautiful vegetables and being part of the network of producers on the far south coast very rewarding.

It is important to us to have a healthy farm. We are preserving the natural bushland that covers over one third of the property, restoring native forest growth in the gullies that feed into shared waterways, and planting new trees that feed the bees.

In our pastures we graze animals that eat bugs and noxious weeds, and in our greenhouses we utilise companion planting and bio controls (good bugs eating bad bugs) to minimise our use of pesticides. The greenhouses are designed to use minimal energy, and they supply our community with locally-grown vegetables.

Our farming is modern, but we value our farming heritage. Traces of Mountain View’s past as a dairy are retained, such as the weatherboard cream house, post and rail cattle yards and a spectacular pear tree from the orchard of the original homestead.

We are part of community network of producers building food security and sustainability on the far south coast of NSW.  We are members of Bega Valley Seedsavers (growing chilli seeds for the local seed bank) and we proudly support the great tradition of the Cobargo Country Show by sponsoring the prize for Best Homemade Tomato Product.

You can find our produce in stores, restaurants and markets from Bermagui to Moruya. We hope you enjoy rediscovering the great taste of farm-fresh produce with us.
